  • KAI Shun Originals - Damascus Masterpiece Series - Handcrafted in Japan
KAI Shun Originals - Damascus Masterpiece Series - Handcrafted in Japan

There is ongoing activity in South Africa & around the World by importers of Chinese copies of Kai Shun Original Damascus knives at discounted prices. These so-called “phantom brands” are registered in Japan & made in China, the country responsible for 70% of the World’s counterfeit goods.

The key thing to look out for on the knife blade is , if it doesn’t say KAI Shun HANDCRAFTED IN JAPAN then it is NOT Made by KAI in JAPAN.

Though the appearance of the COPY CATS are remarkably similar to Shun Damascus knives, there are significant differences in origin, quality and performance*

  • NEW Shun Sora Series from KAI Japan
NEW Shun Sora Series from KAI Japan

The new Shun Sora for KAI Japan range provides exceptional handcrafted Shun quality at an amazing price.
Sora uses Shun’s proprietary Composite Blade technology to bring together a VG10 san mai cutting edge with a Japanese 420J stainless steel upper. This technology puts high-performance material exactly where it’s needed—on the edge. The two blade sections are laser cut, then fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Braze welding permanently joins them. The attractive wavy pattern at the joint is based on traditional Japanese sword hamon lines.
While Sora’s blade shapes and handle design are traditional Japanese, the textured PP/TPE polymer blend handle material provides a contemporary look, secure grip and balance, and is easy to maintain. Shop Now

Sure we’d expect your eyes to be on the giant piece of sirloin (like this one hooked up at Charango) in any normal situation,
but not when there’s a miniature Hattori Hanzo sword skewering it like a fucking kebab. The right way to go about using blades.

Jesus, just look at that knife. It looks like it was forged in the hell fires of Japan’s underworld.
Thing is, it kind of was.The Shun Premier utility knife from Kai is folded 32 times from Damascus steel and meticulously
adapted to its use by the Japanese master forgers in Seki City, the mecca for knives globally.Finished with a polished symmetrical
walnut handle, if there’s one do-it-all knife in your kitchen, this is it. Read on, and we’ll tell you everything we know
